Isn't the internet wonderful?

So, after a few facebook messages and bandying around this blog address, a certain Kenneth Austin has been in touch with me.

Whoever told him about this, I owe you a big thank you!

You see, Kenneth informs me that he is the Grandson of the man who actually built the cinema, and his father, John Austin was the manager of it from the day it opened to the day they sold it in the sixties.

Kenneth lives in Cheshire now, and will hopefully come over to Thorne where I will gladly show him around, and show him any plans we finally get.

He tells me he has photographs of the grand opening! Wow! He’s also told me that he used to have pictures of the inside, but no longer has them. If anyone has any photos of the inside, that would be amazing!
