What a blast!

Wow!

For me, this was the day that would reveal whether this was all a mad idea, or a brilliant risk. We’ve been looking into how best to remove the paint from the front of the building to knock it back to the original brick and concrete.

Almost all the websites you find warn you against sand blasting on brick, and how the only way is chemical removal. But we had a few sample bricks sent to a local sand blaster, and with extra fine sand, and low pressure, the paint came off perfectly with little effect to the brick at all. It took a bit of the shine off, but that’s it, and to be honest, looked better than the almost glazed engineering brick anyway, to a slightly softer finish.

We employed K. R. Reclamation to blast the whole of the front, and what a difference!
