Hydropool!

well, we’ve literally ‘splashed out’ here, but I think this is going to make our home amazing.

Our family love swimming, and we’d love to have a swimming pool, who wouldn’t? But you can only really have an indoor swimming pool because of our English weather right? And that would take up loads of room in our garden and be massively expensive right? Well, there is an alternative, and for me, it’s ace!

It’s called a Hydropool, and it’s basically a hot tub that you can swim in. It’s not the size of a swimming pool, it’s a lot smaller, and you swim against a tide made by water jets. We didn’t believe it would be right until we tried it, so Kate and I went for a swim in the showroom in Peterborough (luckily there wasn’t that many people there!), and it felt really natural just like swimming in a pool, and not false at all. You adjust the flow of the tide depending on whether you’re just relaxing doing a leisurely backstroke, or powering through a front crawl.

Well, we’ve done the deal with Crightons and when we’re ready, they’ll deliver their amazing Hydropool to us. We’re having it at the bottom of the garden near the garage (which is now a Pool House…), and we’re sinking it into the ground. It’s not cheap, but it’s miles less expensive than a normal pool (especially an indoor one), and you can use it everyday in any weather as the water is kept warm just like a hot tub, and the running costs are really reasonable because of the great insulation, and it doesn’t take much looking after either because it’s all self cleaning.
